Spiraling Sands

Poem Artwork
Spiraling sand

In a hostile land,

With trickles of red,

and thirty-six more, dead.

For line after line,

Is drawn in the sand,

giving more reason to the misery of man.

For there are lessons to be learned,

from this most improbable plan.

while still more innocent children burn.

from the deadly spiraling sand.

Yet with so many points to prove,

We have nothing to lose…

So onward we march

Into this desolate land,

Offering our finest young men

to deaths ravenous hand.

for day after intolerable day,

Young men’s dreams fade away.

Fading…fading, quickly into the night,

departing forever with no future in sight.

With death no longer the enemy they fight,

But their partner in this specious plight.

So pray today,

that truth will find its way

and that we soon will learn

how much the spiraling sands

can truly burn.

Much truth in your write, J. Allen. I often wonder how long mankind will continue to burn; sadly, maybe until our bloody end.

Absolutely extremely succinct, sir Allen...I agree and think this should be sent to the president...get us out of iraq is my new mantra, we did what we went there for, he is out of power, not pull us out, overnight, don't let anyone know, let the Iraqis go back to the chaos they were in before our boys started to die over there...Peace is the only Way, Ed *& Rufuz

A beautiful heartwrenching poem Allen, and I agree, with a caveat!
If we stop, will the terrorists stop? They have declared a Jihad on the entire Western world. These are those times Allen, and soon all of our allies and even those who are not, will begin to take part in this world war.The Fundamentalist Islamic world will not stop Allen, until they have destroyed the Western world which they hate!I have seen this developing for many years.Back in the late seventies!
