Poem Artwork

Oh rambling and once poignant thoughts of mine,

why have you beleaguered me on the brevity of time.

Where are the words that once brought me glee?

And why do you attempt in verse to bring upon me your misery?

Why can I not see a brighter shade of blue?

Or feel the warmth of passion that true lovers do?

Why must I forever stand, in the corridors of your darkness?

Is it because you abhor me, or is it that I think I am less than I am.

For you once long ago gave me such beauty to behold,

Yet now all I can see is the blackness of a mans soul.

For it is through my eyes, that I witness the despair in mankind.

I can sense their heartaches and their cries screaming from deep inside,

And I feel the wishes of those many whose yearning it is to die.

So why oh thoughts of mine, why must this be my burdens quest,

When all I desire are, pretty words of dainty verbs that describe beauty the best.

So relieve me,

and no longer grieve me,

with your words and deeds of darkness.

Allen, this is one of those writes that many often think but never find the courage to pen.
This is an awesome and deeply emotive write. Lisa

interesting Allen, yeah it is true we all wish write stunning words of ecclectic beauty, however it is truer we must follow the royal bending, Dani said it well, allot of dark sayings contain shimmering beauty, although we scarce touch it, ty al

Outstanding poetry Poet. One can only hope for a better outcome but, you’re right, everything does seem to be a little out of whack at the moment. It will get better, what other choice do we have? I enjoyed the read.
