In The Still Of The Night

Had to take a break from my painting...had to write of my experience this morning.

In The Still Of The Night

At 4am in the still of the night

A blessed anointing fell from on high

As a thousand children of His love did sing

For it was through their song that the bells of heaven did ring.

Their song was simple and so sincere,

yet, filled with His power from above.

“Oh how I love Jesus” did I hear.

For it was from the depth of their heart that this song had come,

Singing of a greater love than any man had ever known.

Lifted in spirit by these angels of grace,

I arose from my bed and bowed my head in humble praise.

For it was from my sleep which unto this I arose,

still with the burdens of the previous day, still carrying life’s load.

But now it was 4am and in the still of the night,

That this blessed anointing touched my life.

Funny it seems,

That when you think you cannot take much more,

He in his infinite love stands at your hearts door.

Oh yes, it was 4am and in the still….of the night.

Allen , a truly awe inspiring write , which goes to show that a little break from routine is good for the soul and heart , this divine song reminded me of my late mother Mary , whose favourite hymn was " What a friend we have in Jesus "...words which still burn a cross in my heart !!

Uplifting composition

We are visited by comfort many times in our lives. Some of those times come when the Spirit needs most of all.
I recall the song "Oh How I Love Jesus" from my Sunday School days.
That made me smile and the thought that you shared this poem and the vision with us this morning. Awesome!
