Visions Of Light

I looked into the heavens tonight

seeking a vision, searching for light.

Yet silent darkness greeted my weary eyes

as storms from my past, present and future filled the skies

for there were menacing clouds from secrets past

and death turned unto dust of dreams meant to last.

Swirling madness in purest of form

Laid hold to senses burnt from years of scorn.

Quickly I turned my gaze from this tempest stare,

And opted for my light to find elsewhere.

Oh to the East on horizon low,

I sought my vision there for peace to bestow.

Oh to East on gentle rolling plain,

far, far away from this encroaching pain.

Yet, mountains of misery hindered my sight,

as I in humility searched for my vision of light.

With not another way in which to turn,

I turned my gaze within,

And I looked there inside

for my vision this night.

Dear Allen,

Looking within ourselves is the first step of recognition of self worth and understanding ones own capabilities, therefore giving us the confidence to face even the darkest night. Excellent write.

Allen, I imagine you found a great light inside. This is such an excellent poem of searching for hope, knowledge, some glimpse of what may yet be...

Allen, the light is there, we only have to acknowledge it. One doesn't visit your den more than once to know that you are blessed not only with talent but with the graces to believe.
Excellent writing J.Allen.

Allen, a very well-penned though-provoking write, which is exactly what great poetry should do my gifted friend. There are always the trials and tribulations in ones lifetime, which can only be overcome from finding the serenity from deep within, and then burst through the deep darkness into the brilliant light knowing one has found the tranquility necessary to carry on. Outstanding composition. Thank you for sharing it. Take care and be well.

Superb poetry Allen! Sometimes we are directed
to go within to learn what the spirit has for us!
The storms are wearing us all down, and I can only hope
and prayfor the people affected by it and I'm in awe of
how they take it so well! God help them. It's exciting to
watch nature and the power it has, but oh god when it harms
that's terrible!
