Miseries Tree

Blood stained tears flowed down His sallow face,

as children of another world reveled in His gentle grace.

Forgotten in misery for only miseries sake,

He gave his life for many, yet He…many do forsake.

Oh miseries tree, which cast not its shadow,

which lay bent and broken amidst all that is hallowed.

Stripped bare now of dignity and worn thin of pride,

I ponder in bewilderment unto a reason to hide.

For why does this worm, this shade, this forlorn soul?

Why, oh why does it hide within a hate so cold?

Will it never atone unto itself and confess,

Or shall it always be amiss, of all that is holy and blessed.

As water is to earth, and soil is to seed,

We…Me… and I,

Continue to search for fulfillment of need.

Oh miseries tree…

Cast now your shadow upon me.

That I may too be redeemed

By He who, is most high.
