Time Has Come

I come before you with a sad and abating eye,
as I from forlorn stance capitulate to the hearts heavy sigh.
For children of yesterday haunt my darkest dreams
while visions of atrocities tear asunder the hope of life at the seams.
Pallid and grotesque specters appear to me almost everywhere,
as the seven sisters of Pleiades shine bright in a midnight fair.

I run from the sounds that whisper to me each and every night,

I cower from the stark silence, which greets me at first light.

I dance in singsong fashion throughout my aching head,

As I try… and try…to eradicate the vision of the mounting dead.

However to no purpose can this to a weary mind bring,

For of these sights and sounds which so horrifically sting.

So therefore, perhaps with the rising of the coming days sun,

I will at last…reveal the vision, which tells of the dark one.

For he is present amongst us now in these trying times,

And he is seeking his followers to give credence to his terrible crimes.

Yet though, I shall say no more,

for the time has come to stand watch

at our hearts door.

Evil can be respelled as "Live." I find this thought-provokingly intriguing. The answer is in our soul. Thanks for sharing this. Love and peace. Regis

Yes, I know of this "dark one", as he lives at 666 and I at 667, his neighbor...I think in a previous incarnation you must have been Nostradamous...Peace to you and Leah, Ed & rufuz

Allen, this is a powerfully resounding poem on the evil that surrounds us ... though we watch and acknowledge its presense, we must combat its hold on humanity by keeping our souls alert and purified ... this poem is indeed a warning ...
