Painted Glory
From barren rock and soil
doth the desert flower spring,
Bringing forth an uncommon beauty
Seldom if ever seen.
Of hill and cliff, of mountain on high
Comes glory to earth from
this land so desolate and dry.
Bearing witness now to forgotten seed
Placated by nature
and its wanton need.
Then of night cometh the genteel rains
traipsing forth across the barren plains
moisture thick from dark clouds loom
specks of sun…giving flowers bloom.
For in patience were these seeds blown
For in hope of another day sown.
Cast upon stone and waylaid unto time.
Waiting for their calling
From the spring rains wrought forth
By glory divine.

Love the photo.
I believe you've given this photo a bit more color than I did when I used it.
Your words are perfectly chosen.
