Higher Ground

Photo taken today in the Cemetery while visiting the fallen Soldiers of our past.

* Note...photo was resized, therefore rendering it too small to see...it depicts a woman clinging to a cross as the sun breaks through the darkness...anyone who would like to see the photo in its proper size can email me at Jallenwilsonsr.aol.com...thanks

Higher Ground

Through the darkness and into the light.

Past snares and burdens of dismal plight.

Journeys anew against all odds,

Seeking final truth in the face of God.

Faltering steps retraced along the way,

Giving sight unto the price paid.

For over rock and trail

And through the dark valley of man's personal hell,

Silent souls cling suffering to self…

Losing sight from whence cometh their help.

Never once looking to Him on high,

Seeking now only solace… in the absence of time.

Yet true peace can only be found,

When one loses oneself to seek higher ground.

Therefore, look on high, and to the cross do cling

For by Him, comes thy salvation

And chance unto glory to sing.

Perhaps the hardest lesson to learn... to let go... to trust and have faith...
