Shush Now…Not A Single Word

Epileptic shadows

danced in blur on silver screen

While mirrors of chance

shared their muted screams.

Children in stark futility

lay broken asunder by thick fine lines,

As warmongers of yesterday and today

chase the impaled virgins of their mind.

Blackbirds of prey

now carry silver bullets of an uncertain doom

As they circle high in the desert sky

usurping fear in the shadows

 of a dead mans room.

So lesser is the fear, more so the pain

As dark generals without souls

Desire more from their insidious game.

Yea, but chance I to take a stand,

Chance I that accountability

Of them, I should demand.

Then I, you, the likes of me,

Shall carry the scarlet letter,

Of a traitor for all to see.

So cast not your freedom of speech too lightly to the wind

Lest thou kindle, the wrath of closed one-sided thinkers

And therefore, receive their fiery condemnation to the end.

Shush now…not a single word….

Shhhhh, someone is listening…and you might be heard.

Being a lady of many, many words(or so you say)(grining)I am very thankful for all our freedoms and especially our freedom of speech. But what you say in this writing is so true, and it makes one stop and ponder, just why it is, that when it comes to speaking against the autrosities of this war, that one must be very guarded. But I did hear that Jane Fonda, was going to "do it" again. I hope that since now that she has gained (hopefully) maturity with age that she will also have acquired wisdom and discretion! Well, that is another page and another controversial subject. I love your writing. hmmm, I love you more!
