Lust Of The Flesh

Hours have turned into days and days into a number of weeks.

My body cries out longing; and craving for but a taste so sweet.

Oh lord can you help me now for I made a promise I just can’t keep.

I go to bed each night and I dream long and tortures dreams.

My lips recall the time afore, yet now nothing is as it seems.

I see the signs everywhere I go, luscious beauty unsurpassed.

Oh Lord, how will I ever succeed in this cruel and unrelenting task?

The lust of the flesh calls out my name and lures me down its lurid path.

In my mind its taste is delectable and I long but to press my lips to its odorous mass.

Oh my weakness is as shameful for it was today to the flesh I did at last give in.

My guilt so overwhelmed me that it was to Leah my darling wife I confessed my sin.

I told her the truth of how I cheated on her today at work.

My conscious assaulted my soul on how I went totally berserk.

I knew at once when with Leah I stood at last face to face.

I knew I must tell her the truth no matter how small was my taste.

For you see, being a complete vegetarian is just not for me.

I longed for, and craved the taste of a Hardee’s double cheese.

I knew that I was caught and I knew that I had failed the test.

I guess that I should have thought that she would have smelled the charbroiled burger on my breath.

Oh Lord Cant you see…the lust of the flesh got the better of me.

For I think today I will have a Cajun steak and a baked potato please.

With all your heart...you had me and the taste of the flesh turned to edible passions and ended up so much easier to digest.
Well done!
