He Is Worthy

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

It has been 12 days since I brought Leah home from ICU and to care for her. Of late her muscles have grown weaker and she is now pretty much immobile. Though her body has grown weaker; her faith and my faith has grown stronger each day and we both look forward to that glad day when she shall arise and walk once more.

For…..

2 Corinthians 12

9 And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

He Is Worthy

She stares at the ceiling: eyes fixed on some unseen thing.

Hour after hour she stares; heart fixed on hope to cling.

She whispers in her sleep ever so to that man of Galilee.

She dreams the dreams of saints; she praises the King of Kings.

I brush back her hair which falls in gentle tufts across her brow.

I caress her fine features and give her all my love right now.

She blinks a little as I lean over to give of her a gentle kiss.

She squeezes my hand; she shuts her eyes real tight.

I follow in kind with warm reflections in the August night.

I fall back to my pallet by her bed on our living room floor.

And I too close my eyes and dream of our love by God’s golden shore.

Gone now is this day; oh thankful I am for this most wonderful time.

I know that all will be well, for I know the Lord is both merciful and kind.

Thank God for these our days.

Thank God for this most special time.

Thank God for all things.

For He is worthy of our our hearts and mind.

A beautiful write filled with faith, hope, heart and love. Never ever give up hope and faith, for as we know faith is a substance of hope unseen. Many years ago, the doctors called in the family for my grandmother they had given up with no hope, but with many prayers prayed He gave us a miracle...my mamaw came home and lived for nearly ten more wonderful years eight of which she lived life to the fullest. Prayer changes things! I've got Leah and you both on our prayer list praying daily for you both...God bless!
Blessings from Ky.

Yes, he is worthy, Gyouareworthy, Leah is worthy. Glad you could write when having such troubles and all. You are so strong and Leah is weak now but firm in her belief in God's healing. Thank God you can both be together through these times of trials. I am sure a lesson is to be got out of this and it is for a good reason. Prayers for you. Continued support if needed to you too.

Allen, our subject this month and in September is on marital relationships and love. I can not think of a more precious offering than to share this with our congregation on Sunday. All marital love in sickness and in health, beginning and end should have this kind of true and loving sense of trust in the power of our Heavenly Father. May He always be with you in all your endeavors. God Bless you. Hold on!!! Keep writing; keep loving you wonderful Leah. Your friend in Christ Jesus, Louisa
