The Broken Window
Little bird on a broken window sill
Reflections shattered on a sharp maze
He sees himself in a hundred tiny pieces
and wonders what’s real in the brevity of days.
He spreads his wings oh to greatly fly
Yet they are broken like the images beneath his feet
And beneath the svelte softness of feathers
His tiny heart like a broken window hardens and dies.
