The Color Red

Red is for sunsets and nurturing hearts.
Red equals desires to never be apart.
Pastel shades blend to bring forth a lavender hue.
Yet red still streaks across my mind as I think of you.

For red is for my blood that I would spill in  love to protect.
Red captures my spirit to which  I would never defect.
So sleep now shall I with this color dancing in my head.
And I will always with fondness recall this mornings rise so red.

And...they come in orange too...smiles

J. Allen,

Sometimes colors tell so much. And you've painted the color red beautifully.

Red is alive! It is the color that is never dull, and is almost synonymous to sacrifice/martyrdom. Great fiery resolve here, Allen!
