The Thousand Mile Road
People look without seeing.
They hear without listening.
They walk the thousand mile road.
Then one day in the whisper of the wind, it... it is all gone.
They look and do not ever see.
Oh how quickly life did flee.
Their ears never held sweet sound.
Now come they at the end of this, their thousand mile road...
They are laid alone;
Life is gone, as the end of their journey has at last been found.
Such a shame it is to see and not hear.
Such is the shame it is to hear and not see.
A life lest lived…so much…so much to give.
Pity now those upon the thousand mile road,
For dying is for the living, and living for only the dead to know.
