Faith So Blind

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Wednesday, February 25, 2004

Poem Artwork
Whispering black hues of faith so blind,

Somber ill fated recollections of trust in kind

Limping along in shallow insecure dreams,

That renders tainted words to broken wings.

Promises of truth that bend, amidst levies of lies

Giving forth a stinking savor that now fills the skies.

No longer shall it be, nor to fathom or believe.

For faith remains spurned by charlatans and thieves.

So leave not your heart, nor the words you share,

Leave them not for others with malice to tear.

Gather them within the confines of your mind,

Lest the thieves destroy them in black hues of faith so blind.

Allen, you've found a cranny that most just don't dare explore. But you've offered it for all to soak up. Great write! Lisa

Yes, J. Allen, trust is a beautiful thing when we can
be assured we are in possession of it...but trust betrayed...
can be a painful bleeding of the heart.
