The sun was beginning to rise, brightening the night sky

as the fisherman casted his net in a perfect

circle into the still sleeping lake ,making a series of ripples

Slowly, ever so slowly, he pulled in the net  and was pleased to

see a few fishes struggling within.

He was unaware of the hooded figure approaching in the

distance .

It was when he was puttng the fish in the basket that he noticed the

figure and wondered who it could be at this hour.

As the figure drew nearer a feeling of peace engulfed the

fisherman

"Peace be on you.,Peter." said the hooded figure

Peter dropped the basket in astonishment as he recognised

the voice.  Immediately he fell on his knees ."Master,master I

thought you were dead,!" he stuttered in amazement.

"No,Peter ,I didn't die there on the cross,it was all arranged

so that the authorities would  stopt persecuting the movement 

 I wan't you to go to distant lands and spread the good news. Be not

afraid ,you and your family will be provided for and I will be with you in

spirit"

The figure then slowly disappeared leaving Peter still astonished at the

vision. Peter then went on to preach the Word in foreign lands until

his death by crucifixion. Tradition has it that Peter asked that he be

crucified upside down for he was unworthy to be crucifed as was his

Lord and Master ,Jesus The Christ
