No second looks when you pass by,
No one notices the gleam in your eye.
Not the kind of body the guys all want,
They don’t know their minds you would daunt.
You’re just an ordinary girl.

Your plans for the future far exceed theirs,
They’ll mostly marry, then have affairs.
Because, rarely are handsome & pretties satisfied,
Until old age comes & they've realized
They were really only ordinary, after all.

I remember when I was young and had illusions that I was extraordinary. Then I realized I wasn't the center of anyone elses universe, including mine, which rapidly dwindled to a sort of pocket universe, always a subsidiary and not the main show. Handsome and pretties realize that too. Eventually. Some of us are slow learners. Wisdom comes to us all and this one speaks volumes of it. Good read and good wisdom Lark. Bob

Thank you so much for that constructive critique. I just wish I knew how to do that. Feel free to give an example. I am hoping to get time to read more of yours tomorrow. My house if for sale and I am cleaning and working in the yard.
