An ode to relationship confusion

Tell me it’s not me Causing these changes that I see Your eyes look through me In a way they never have The way a stranger’s might. Your words and voice are different So little to say, it seems And when words do come They’re thrown like darts That hit their mark in this hurting heart. Once a lover Now a stranger. Once a friend Now a stranger. Love not for me But for a stranger.

Man was not meant to be monogamous. So he tends to conquer and move on. That's when the stranger in him comes out. He seeks out the strange and becomes a stranger in the process.
