You have hit on a very apt metaphor for the journey towards motherhood. We all smile benignly when the little ones try on Mom's shoes seldom looking beyond the moment and into the transition we are witnessing. A timely tribute to Mothers everywhere.
Each new generation must fill the shoes of their forbearers. You have made the transition well and are honoring the one who got you there.
I have learned much from my mother that carries me in these days when she is so close to the end of her days. I hope I can give her something special this Mother's Day that she will remember in the hard days to come.

This very sweetly done, Vivian. I guess it is fitting into mother's shoes that define the girls, for the guys the first time they shave. I, for one, have never forgotten that first time.
