As autumn arrives
it has brought about
a change in our lives
I am left with this loneliness
as my only blanket
I shiver as it wraps itself around me
seperating me from the warmth of you
from the strong body I once knew

The rooms are clouded in desolence
the impending end glares in silence
the winds of fall toss about the leaves
imitating your tossing away of my heart
let it fall and shatter, let it go
I shall pick up the fragmented pieces

One day, I shall feel again
but not tonight, tonight I shall
cover my wounds with a smile
I shall fiene gladness and joy
no one shall see my dismal heart
or know my desperate  soul
that autumn has brought about
with you walking out the door
