Free-verse Sometimes reality is not so pretty.

She paces the cage Restrained by expectation Snarling at hands that control a life, not theirs Temper badly frayed Haunted by dreams of freedom Submission to another's will is enforced Yearns for a haven A home of her own making Her domain, where she can be true to herself Wild spirit confined Life has not kept its promise Helplessly bound, there is no escape for her Nonetheless, time passes Too late for dream fulfilment Diversion finally comes to her, in death.
