Cat-napping

Poem Artwork

 Whiskers twitch against my chin

His throat purrs soft beneath my nose

He shares his warmth with me, his kin

Whilst resting sleepy, head on toes

We dream of chasing butterflies

All snuggled down in blanket blue

Our tails twitch in unison

Our ears flick as if on cue

There’s nothing in the world to beat

A cosy nap with him entwined

To feel his heartbeat next to mine

And find this perfect peace of mind.

Cute. Quite often in our younger lives, my twin brother and I were forced to sleep together. It wasn't at all like that, especially since those old beds sag in the middle and we often rolled into each other to our disgust.

The peace of quiet in kittens sweet. Whiskers twitching
to purr-fect harmony. Lovely image to kittens antics
forever to love and cherish. Ruan delightful write.

Great photo! Much greater poetry beneath the photo. I am a dog lover, but not one of those who hate cats. I'm just ego-driven enough to expect undivided love from an animal I feed and house. Cats could care less. I like the individuality of the felines, just not enough to want them around al that much.
