That which disappears from view is not necessarily lost.

Id - Inner self

Poem Artwork

Lost in someone else's world
Tiny parts of Id
Failing to survive
Until there's just foetus furled

Unexpectedly cast adrift
Forced to dance
The tune is law
But the complication becomes a gift

Departure of the oppressor
Compels inner child
To test boundaries
New wings facilitate her

A life-time of floundering in mist
Suddenly made clear
All angst is gone
Freed from dominance, Id can exist!

Has a Haiku feel to it. A series of interconnected observations culminating in the freeing of the spirit. Very unique. M.True

the writing's tight as a drum,
not a waste word or redundant phrase,
truly impressive and when a thought-through
theme is in harmony with delivery
the work is more than worthy;
i may be wrong, Ruan, but i don't
believe i've read any of your work before..
i will definitely be back

There's a perfection in structure here, not only of the poetic form chosen, but more importantly, for the evolution and depiction of one's awareness. Few see id's complexity as perfection or its instinctual capacity as an essential complement to the ego and super ego as readily as your poem suggests is possible. There is obviously an unbridled freedom and understanding of self which allows such a vision to be willingly shared. Well done.

While trying to decide if the "id" in question was your driver's license or your psychological source of pleasure, I decided you were being ambiguous so as to lead me to a fork in the road. And then? Not knowing what else to do, I took it. But that could be just my ego surfacing. :) Nice poem, Ruan. I couldn't help myself.

I am so fortunate to be able to read such wonderful poetry here at AD. Another poem I could not add or subtract from, it's perfect to me.
