Snowfall late on Christmas Eve
Lights that twinkle extra bright
Magic we can all believe
Is stronger on this special night
Crisp clean air is cold and thin
Rooftops carry blanket white
Soft flakes cling to hair and skin
Jack Frost lends the breeze his bite
Windows warm with frosted glow
Wreaths and mistletoe are hung
Muffled footsteps crunch on snow
The touching sound of carols sung
Home is where I’ll be this night
Whilst outside, breath of winter blows
Log fire blazing amber light
Inviting me to toast my toes.
When midnight strikes and bedtime calls
I’ll bid the stars outside goodnight
And as the last log burning, falls
I’ll snuggle up in bed till light.
