She’s moving out today

And abruptly it she did say

She packed away dolls and toys

That made way for other joys.

Clothes and shoes and music too

All have left to her place anew

A quick good-bye to the dogs and me

And now her we have yet to see.

A few things remain in the room

For I know she will be back soon

To collect what was left behind

I guess I don’t even come to mind.

I thought she’d be by to say hello

But then again I don’t think so

For the thrill of being on your own

Brings forgetfulness of the old home.
