A poem about abuse

Poem Artwork

Fractured times of days spend on the run
the push and pull of doors
that slammed but never spoke
the fearful nights that rose like bile upon
my bruised throat
lamenting squeaks and clenched fists
with angered stench and lasting brawl

Displaced words that sutured straight
beneath the needle's clocking time
the sniffle cries of ones own broke
duveted here where love's in-toke
brought chesting rage and shout;

Fractured moments never mine
whispering slyls of solid rhyme
now,,,, go away ,
it's time , it's time, it's time .

I believe emotional abuse is worse than physical. The abuser belittles and condescends until the victim loses him or herself. Sometimes the victim doesn't realize what is happening right away. The scars are invisible, but the pain isn't.

Excellent thoughts that are spot on.

A poem that speaks for many. Going away is the best solution. Those who choose to stay are often met with deaths and emotional damage.

And the bastards always say "Who, me?

Finely written poem. Opened more doors than you can know within my heart. If this was written from remembrances of your own abuse, you must have sobbed buckets-full before it was done. I hope that wasn't the case, however.

This kind of abuse is perhaps worse than mere physical abuse, more long-lasting. Here it is vividly described in phrases of true anguish "chesting rage and shout" !

Your distinctive imaging here stirs the emotions, Vienna. "the fearful nights that rose like bile upon my bruised throat" Such a phrase. As good a description as I've ever read. Well expressed. Peace... r
