Incessantly my time grows old
Repeatedly it turns to gold
With every breath I sweetly take
The hourglass of life's keepsake
Becomes a colander of grace

Ah yes, time, what a precious thing that we have so little of. The symbol of the hourglass is very compelling, as you say, a colander of grace.
