Little by little he takes down our tree
it was a magical place here for a while
now every bauble and light begins to plea
please bring me back next year with style
Little by little, Christmas season waves goodbye
down comes the decors, a New Year is on the fly

When I younger, I would always get a live Christmas tree that could be planted afterwards, but haven't had the space to do that in a long time. Now it's just a small artificial tree. It gets covered with a large trash bag, and stored away. And I'm a strong believer that the tree should be down before the new year starts.
