Every word is so true about most mothers. The last time I saw my mother in 2011, she cried when I left, thinking I would never see her again… She was right although I tried to arrange trips back several times. She died last year in February before the pandemic had 95. Up until year before that she would call on her TTY telephone since she was nearly deaf and giggle as she talked to me every Monday at 4 PM, sharp.
Mom was the one that ensured that I could leave home at 18 without fear of having to return. But then, accepted me when I had to return at 21 and briefly, for a summer, at 40. I tried to give back to her over the years what she gave to me in those early years of my growing up.
