There is reverence in silence and a wilderness in the wind
a place where you can go when everything has stopped
There is power in the askance, when the soul decides to stay
softly inside the seat of your heart where it belongs, anyway !
Pick a star from the sky and make it fly your way
Pick a wish from your mind and watch it fly away
(take a deep breath in, hold your breath and slowly exhale)
There is joy in sitting with your thoughts each day
when they are made easy by the breath
there is no one there but you and the Great Spirit
Listen to the drum of your heart as it beats in time with love
it is telling you it is to enter into one-ness with the stars
(take a deep breath in, hold your breath and quietly exhale)

you can tame your heart every day but it was born to be wild,
what can I say, its just God's way...

WHAT A BLESSINGS IT IS TO BE ABLE TO...SUCCULENTLY ENJOY THE BLESSINGS OF AIR AND BREATH! THIS AWARENESS COMES AS A GIFT WITH AGE. ONE LEARNS TO APPRECIATE THE GOD GIVEN BEAUTY OF PEACE...FROM THE EARTH, SKY AND SEAS, WHICH WAS THERE ALL THE TIME BUT OBSCURED BY THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF 'LIVING'. A confluence of things here Vienna: Catholicism, mysticism, fantasy, and the reference to the 'Great Spirit' is something portrayed in most North American indigenous cultures as a powerful force that guides people in wisdom and survival. I find it quite interesting that the word ‘silent’ contains the same letters as the word ‘listen.’ I think that's rather cool. Regards.... r
I believe your poem is meant to be a form of meditation. I have never followed any formal meditation practice, but I find that my wild heart takes on challenges to the point of great stress and activity. But there comes a time, in the midst of all of that stress, that I will simply take a break to go and look out the window or just lean back and let my mind go free for a few moments. And then, get back in the fray. ;-)
