More than six decades of life lived
five of these a mate could have been.
In the traverse, search or not
no one found to spend lifelong with.
High hopes, pitfalls, aching at times
not the right person or the right time.
there'd only three women to prize
they were loyal, loving and true .

My mother, her mother and sis
Mother and Gran gone forty years.
Sister crossed over twenty past
none before ever close to them.
Maybe it took that long for God
to feel it was my heart had healed.
Because now the three is a four
but the fourth is number one.

I should have known, the hint was there
three of the four, the same calling.
Were they together, the same time
thier light of love would truly shine.
Mothers all and all so loving
I praise Him for all these blessings.
Baby loves me as none before
andshe knows she's my complete life.

Nothing happens without a reason.
We do not always understand,
though, what...that reason is...But
your poem's words...have realized,
and found the profound relevance...
Thank you for sharing.

This poem is a reflection of the women in your lives that you loved and
now all have gone, I enjoyed reading it toay. Each verse was very descriptive of the way in which you felt about each one.

you found your true soulmate and the one who enhances your thoughts these days, I only started reading your works last year and now you write from the heart, so obvious to me as I travel that path you were on my friend, God has given you a whole new life to live, enjoy and cherish

Reminds me of Lionel Richie's, Three Times a Lady. He was referring to his family in the same way.

Thank you Budd. Your poem helped me to reflect on the blessings family brings. Yes, it can be trying at times but if you can share experiences with that special person we can reflect and grow together in life as long as God will grant us. Amen
