From May to December is a long, long time

How can the spring ever understand winter?

The bright warm days of spring are so sublime

Spring is long days, short nights and laughter

The cold winter days are shorter than the nights

And December’s days signal the end is at nigh

December is all past glitz, glamour and lights

Sometimes warm but usually it’s a cold goodbye

This December seems to be arriving sooner than usual. Seems only yesterday it was January.
Winter holds us accountable..we spend much time within ourselves. Which makes that cold goodbye..even colder.
Excellent write.
