Silent heartaches thunder through my mind
Past pains wrack my thoughts and dreams
Storms of past anguishes raging unconfined
Melancholia and remorse are basic themes
Winds of unending torments screaming
Despair like lightening strikes my soul
Salty drops down my face are streaming
Emotions swirling as I lose all control
Searching life's sky for the peace and calm
Looking for some sun streaming through
Dodging, trying to avoid every maelstrom
Seeking someone who can love me anew
Someone who can restore my faith in life
A love that’ll be as refreshing as snow
A soul mate to help overcome the strife
With whom I can share life's rainbow
"Winds of unending torments screaming
Despair like lightening strikes my soul
Salty drops down my face are streaming
Emotions swirling as I lose all control..."
Your imagery conveys the maelstrom of emotion and intensity -- good job!
For me, as a reader, AND as a writer, form isn't nearly as important as the content --- it's all about what you're trying to say, what feelings you want to convey. Form matters, discipline is important, but if it strangles your creativity, then it ain't helpin', fella. Know what I mean? Take a risk or two. WRITE THE POEM YOUR WAY. My two cents-worth...
