It's easy for a little girl sitting in the meadow at mid-summer with all those "things," flying around to think of them as being fairies. And, in midwinter, while walking down a neatly clean sidewalk with high snow banks, dressed up in her winter warmest, with a red nose and frosty breath, to imagine the snowflakes filtering down through the streetlights and the magic colorful lights of many decorations to think of them as fairies.
Christmas wouldn't be the same without the fairies, as you have made abundantly clear in this charming seasonal poem. I do believe, Jane, believe me, I do.
