One Amongst Us…

There is one amongst us,

Who has fallen into hard times, of late,

That person eating so little to keep the internet,

Hoping against hope that they will win a contest,

That may have some monetary payoff, even lest…

I am wracking my brain, trying to think of what to do,

For this person, this poet, this writer, could be me or you,

Maybe start a fund of some sort, making someone the keeper,

Of the monies contributed, prior to sending it to where it will do most good…

I cannot imagine, well yes I can, I have been there before, myself in past,

I lived on the street, this person has a roof, but not for long will it last,

I know this person will be most likely be angry with me for this poem,

This I can accept, as I realize it is hard to be that far down,

We are unwilling and have pride as human beings, to take from others, cash… 

Please if you will, submit to me any ideas you have, regarding the above,

Maybe only a few dollars, to cover all the infinite love,

This person has contributed to all our poetry, our lives, all our labors of love…
