Oh so Quiet

Love the quiet at the end of a Sunday, No cars to make noise,
No people to speak,
Only the sounds of Nature,
Not much but the creek...

Oh So Quiet…

Is oh so quiet here in the campground tonight,

Only sounds to be heard are that of the night,

A cat and dog mixing it up,

Or a cat and a raccoon may be more right…

The only sound I can hear, the ticking of clock just above and near,

My refrigerator does make some running noise as well, this we can also hear,

Jets in the skies, oh so high up they fly, still we hear their mournful sound,

Seems they wait till over this place, to adjust their power, does not matter…

No other sounds are heard, no road sounds, no people, no dogs a barking,

Seems like all the world did die off in the time I took my nap,

If truly so, I could be happy,

To live alone with my dog, no others at my door to rap,

No noise again, no sounds to disturb, my slumber,

To never again know of the sound of man, never to be encumbered…

It’s oh so quiet in the campground this eve,

All must be tired of their earning their daily bread,

I do not herein grieve,

As I love the quiet of the night, so calming,

When I do awaken and find myself in the middle of this calm,

A time of retrospection & thought and at the most introspection…
