Ridin’ the Curl…

Man do I miss ridin’ the curls,

My board broken since last I rode,

Fallin’ off, diving for pearls,

This little poem just an ode…

Waves in New Jersey, not the size of Hawaiian surf,

Would love to see, just one little smurf,

Of a blue color or yellow, or the color of turf…

Oh for the ocean to be in the 70’s for a week,

Who cares about the sharks, they have to eat as well,

A human being would be a natural treat,

This I don’t have to really sell,

As you know, how they relish a human bite,

But in reality, they do not as they don’t really like…

Oh man I cannot focus this night for some reason,

Maybe that pill for pain I took earlier for the season,

Just think, it is Saturday, let me get high for no reason,

Tomorrow is another day; I can do then what I desire,

Hope I do not get any lesions, as work is hard for me, not used to it, let me get out of this mire…

Get a new board; or fix that old one - try some duct tape; it fixes everything! And follow your dream; life is too short not to.

I swim like a rock but I sure love to see people ply the waters in whatever way they may. Thank you for this offering, Ed. All the best to you and to Rufuz. Regis

I am feeling similar sentiments, this time of year, Ed.
Love the way you expressed it, and the gorgeous, "free-flying"
graphic that adds a touch of 'spark' to the poem.
