More Peace from Amish Country…
(this time for Rufuz)
A small waterfall I did find,
Not hard, just off the road,
A good place to stop,
To sample the food,
The folks there so kind…
A small river, leading up the falls,
Man made dam it was, but better than malls,
A picnic table to sit at, Rufuz smelling all the smells,
Here you go Ruffie, a piece of a pretzel, ain’t it swell?
Some playtime for Ruffie, and relaxation for me,
He found a friend, another dog looked just like he,
A female, fixed, but he didn’t know, can’t complain can he,
About being a virgin anymore, she gave him a show,
As his neutering didn’t seem to stop his flow…J

i love amish country...from ohio, originally, there were amish communities not far from where we lived, we would occasionally see the black buggies on the road and whenever our aunt rose visited us from san diego, california, we'd take her on a ride through the countryside...one time a fierce thunderstorm popped up overhead, we took shelter in an amish house...the woman of the house had just baked bread...and we got hungry...we bought all of her bread and ate it on the way back to the house. :) another time, went to visit my folks in ohio, they took me to an amish restaurant, the amish door (or was it the red door?) whatever, it was the next best thing to mom's cooking...o, thanks for this one, ed, it brought back many pleasant memories...excellent write!
