Perseverance…
I have this neighbor, in his eighties, if a day,
Had a stroke or more, but bet he still gets laid,
He walks with a cane, he barely moves,
His one leg all but worthless, he still drives too…
That is called perseverance,
He could have just laid down and died,
He could be just living off his family,
Instead he is still the head of that family,
Strength of will seems to be his stead,
No one can tell him what to do, not with his head…
Tis’ good to see, that ability so strong,
This man he may have done many in his life, wrongs,
But not a one will bother him now; he sits outside enjoying the sun,
While watching that his lawn and property are taken care of by his son,
He cannot be faulted; he is an avid fisherman, collecting rods and reels,
He may move slowly; you won’t see him in the Olympics,
But he is a man of means, doing what he sees as his own thing,
This I think shows the world what he is made of, yes it does reveal…
