Bodies being removed from amish one room school house...

Poem Artwork

What causes people to kill?

What causes them to kill children?

What makes their minds work that way?

Are they always insane or just that way today...?

Amish children who do no one harm,

They work their families farm,

They may not be like the worlds norm,

But they certainly don’t deserve to be killed in any form…

What sets off a person to commit suicide?

Maybe as a child they were picked on and cried,

Maybe someone close to them as well died,

Maybe still their brains were by drugs fried…?

Still and again, what makes anyone want to kill a child?

Surely there are reasons of some sort, that they just go wild,

Children should all their respective lives, live it beguiled,

Not afraid to go to school, afraid to be normal,

Afraid that by someone they are for no reason reviled…

Tormented sickness that was well hidden in this case and in his revenge satan goaded him in this direction for many years. He was a tool and the innocense of the Amish made his crime more noticable. Now...we MUST act to keep this from happing again.

Sadness needs to be redefined.

Susan

Many are asking the same question, Ed, WHY? Crazy world we live in, when adults with a hidden agenda slaughter innocent children because of something that happened to them as a child....the families of those babies are in my prayers. Powerful, heartbreaking write--well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Ah, Ed, this one and other acts like this are incomprehensible to me. Others *suffer* what these killers do but don't end up shooting other innocents - where does the mind turn to these vile deeds? Why do they feel innocents and children should die for their slights? Another sad day.....

Peace. Joyce

This is so sad. I know no reason why, but their are too many gutless bastards in the world who are willing to take innocent lives.

Alas we will never know. We only hope it is not repeated. But it must be the result of an unbalanced mind to kill innocent children, espcially those who do no harm. Victor

Ed it is so sad I could hardly function today thinking over all the same questions you pose. It seems it is getting worse every day with school shootings and poor children being killed. It is becoming like we're living the book of Revelations. We must stay strong and pray.
Excellent poem of compassion. Eileen

Ed, I am in shock...I have seen those gentle friendly people in the upper mid east. I actualy sat and had tea and sweets with them, looking at their peace filled life. They were extremly loving people. Their horse and buggies quitely galloped the roads.I heard stories about many Amish horse and buggie got ran over by secular society in a hurry thugs. Made me A-N-G-R-Y...... I had heard not much about this story but what I had heard alittle on the news shocked me and angered me. These precious people did no harm to any soul so screwed up...What devils in this world to take from such precious, gentle, beautiful and hard working souls.Ed, you have the biggest heart to tribute these souls..Your heart is so big and rare..Only God can heal us all purely..

Love,
Dove
