How do the druggies know I have it...?

Poem Artwork

Or in its generic form, hydrocodone,

The surgeon gave me plenty,

And when the druggies find out I got them,

They come calling at my door to try to get em’…

Told them, “ If you I gave them too,”

What would I use for my pain in my jaw,

They don’t care about that, as long as ‘THEY” are satisfied,

They come over here like vultures, scratching at me with their claws…

I just ignore begging and whining,

Tell them to go home and drink wine,

I rarely have any kind of “heavy” drug here,

I don’t know how they find out I have them,

They must smell them from afar,

I’d be more than happy to buy them a beer,

But that doesn’t to them, of me, endear…

I'm with Carla. Might as well take Advil. Anyway, sure hope you are feeling better.

Taken those for pain and I don't understand how they get high off of them. Cause I never have. It helps with pain and that's it. Don't get it. I've actually had to take more than one for pain and still have not felt anything but pain disappear. again, don't get it.

Druggies have a sixth sense when it comes to sniffing out feeding their addiction. I'm glad you don't cater to them, although you have some problems of your own.

These Black and Blue Red Zone Days by Aberjhani

Just as life during the pandemic was color-coded with different hues representing different levels of danger, life in its aftermath has become shaded in similar ways. As a self-styled “Seeker of Beauty with Beauty,” (borrowing from a quote by W.E.B.
