Poem Artwork

Cape May Point,

Far southern edge of NJ,

Victorian homes oh so beautiful,

Summer sun & fun oh so bountiful…

Tis a pity the sea does here encroach,

Each year another few inches go back to the sea,

Such a wonderful place to come to NJ & see,

The lighthouse has 199 steps, not so much for me…

Ever since I was but 12 years old,

I used to climb on the bunker though it wasn’t safe,

But who knew then, as kids we are bold,

What a place to be, right on the point of,

The Atlantic ocean and the Delaware river,

So many ships to see, returning from the sea…

Hey I like your camper in your bio!!
Now that's a good time!! Resort!
& the Waterfalls are slowly moving too!!
They will eventually not be there at all
according to the science :(
I sure would like to visit the lighthouse
99 steps and all!!

Childhood memories. What would we do without them?

We get the ships that come down the St. Lawrence Seaway through the locks here on Lake Erie from all over. I love to sit on the mammoth lime stone piles and watch them still. Of course the ocean is more exciting.

Love ya!

Great memories, Ed. I too grew up near the ocean and it was great.
Nicely told, my friend. God bless.

I was born and bred near the sea. Now that I live inland, I really miss it.
I love the way this takes me right there. Thank you :o)
