Round trip,
Just lil’ ole me,
Now I am home and can finally get a grip,
28 dollars in tolls,
70 bucks in gas,
Those toll takers on the NYC G.W. Bridge sure are trolls…
A wedding I attended in New Haven, Ct.,
Was gonna round trip the drive at first,
Glad I talked myself out of that,
For that kind of mileage twice in one day,
Would have been the most freakin’ worst,
Enough today I did almost every other word I cursed…
I once drove 1100 miles in a day. It only took 22 hours at an average of 50 mph in that underpowered Sprite. Never again. Stopping for tolls and traffic can drive one crazy.
Man, you are old, Bro. When I travel I usually drive 700 or 800 miles a day, or it would take me forever to get anywhere. I used to transport newly adopted dogs 1,500 miles from Utah to Chicago - never more than a two-day trip for me. But there are so many homeless dogs right around here now that I don't have to travel anywhere to rescue them.
