Next stage, without intervention, I die…
Home dialysis is far better than having to do it in a facility. Look at it this way, you'll have a lot of time to compose but they'll probably make you give up bananas.
There is another choice. A kidney transplant. But that may not be in the cards for you. Whatever you decide, I wish you good luck and long life. Or as Spock said before he died: "Live long and prosper."
Hang tough, Edbear. We are all rooting for you and holding all your days as precious to us. A man's go to do what a man (or woman's) got to do and if it be shunts, so be it. Sometimes life gives us choices between two equally risky and undesired paths. My brother opted for the shunts. It tethered him to that lifeline and all of its demands until the end. I watched him die and unpleasant death--one that I would not choose. I believe the choice you make will be the right one for you. Good luck and God speed. The other Ed.
