Sleep or the lack thereof...

Depending on your outlook,
All this past night I read a book,
No sleep did I experience,
But it’s happened before,
Though it doesn’t make much sense…

I went to sleep at 8 on Saturday night,
And didn’t awake till 3 on Sunday afternoon,
I really looked then a messy sight,
My hair out of sorts, it would have made you swoon…

So now I must go and drive a friend to their destination,
He did pay me for the use of my weekly gas ration,
Maybe this sleep pattern is from a great deal of frustration,
Or stress could be the culprit, worrying about, if I will get any, salvation…

But life goes on, you know it must,
So for a while I will be alive before turning to dust,
Maybe my kidneys are just so much rust,
Hopefully for some time I will still be around,
Before I for certain or not self-combust…

A drink or two each day keeps the devil away (and flushes the rust out of your kidneys). I read that somewhere. :)

Peace comes by handing it over to a "Higher Power,"

I'd like to see that "self combusting." I've heard that it actually happens and it would be something to see. Maybe you could put it on YouTube. ;-)

Yep. Life must go on . . . or not . . .

You probably can't sleep because of all the guilt you feel for picking on your saintly old brother Pee Wee again, and on your poor defenseless computer, H.P.
