Without dreams, life is boring...

Poem Artwork

He reads till his eyes burn,
He would breed as his loins yearn,
Of weed he does for now spurn,
His need for sleep is his of late concern…

If not for greed he would of his life adjourn,
To accede he could till his next life then return,
He does concede that this life is a good turn,
Decreed he has been against suicide, it is past the point of no return…

It’s been said;“ To sleep, perchance to dream,”
How he wishes the sandman will grasp him and of it allow,
No drug does help him to rest,
This insomnia does put him to the test,
Will he survive, will God grant him to be able to arrive alive,
Time will only tell, as he wishes to in dreams scheme…

Unfortunately, I have no cure except a regular time to go to bed, a good bed, a place with little light and no sound, and plenty of exercise of the tiring kind during the day (a long walk on the beach, sailing or rowing a boat for three or four hours, or the like), and no pills or sleeping aids whatsoever.

And one more thing… Good luck!

Get out and get some exercise during the day, and you'll sleep better at night. Go walk some dogs at the shelter!

Sorry to hear that the sandman is giving you the cold shoulder, Ed. Fifty miligrams of Trazodone works great for me. No side effects and no addiction issues. I'm going back to sleep for two more hours before I get up for work. Sweet dreams, buddy.

Scott
