Poem Artwork

“It” crawled out of primordial sludge,
“It” had the color and texture of chocolate fudge,
From the marshes at the bottom of the world,
“It” flapped in the breeze like that of a flag unfurled…

“It” had a mindset of only one thing, must eat,
This new planet full of bipedal creatures made of meat,
“It” is not a female, nor is it a male,
“It” has an odor that is quite stale…

“It” has purpose on this planet to prepare for more of its kind,
“It” has searched & scoured through many galaxies for this to find,
“It” has its mind enclosed within its hind,
“It” now knows its mission is to destroy humankind.

When I was a kid this would scare the crap out of my pants. Now, I hardly give these funny monsters a second glance. Still, it was fun to read and reminisce.

Wasn't there a film called IT many years ago when "we" were young. No doubt not as scary as this.

I'm actually looking forward to it. ;-)

From that old movie that I saw by Stephen King, it turned out to be a giant spider in an old sewer system that woke up every 30 years or so needing to replenish its supply of spider wrapped dried kids. Somehow, and I'm not sure exactly how, the spider used clowns to draw children into the sewer where it could properly inject them with spider embalming fluid. Gave clowns a bad name and wasn't even scary.

Your guy from outer space looks better.

Ron
