For a change a wonderful & beautiful day

A very healthy day had by us both!

Poem Artwork

To Delaware with Rene & I,

To the Amish market for pretzels,

And some delicious coconut custard pie,

Then to Bylers in Dover, for more food,

Then to Acme for steak, mac’n’cheese & shrimp,

Then home to cook it all up, nothing we had did we on skimp.

Went out to the barn to let the boys inside,

Two beautiful horses fit to ride,

Dreamer & Speckie, the first cuter and friendlier,

I thought a walk would make my dinner digest a bit,

Just got my legs hurting and me out of breath,

The only thing I missed but wanted was a banana split.

Then the long drive home, tired as I was, glad I had gotten a nap,

A long day of almost 12 hours, but enjoyable with bright blue sky,

Warm temps, no clouds, for all intents & purposes a perfect day.

Happy for you that you had a good day. With all that is going on in the world right now, such good days are truly gems. Love and peace to you, Ed,

Regis. 🍁

Rings as poetic as some obscure words slipping out of literary wannabe genius.

Only one thing wrong. That diet is of the killer kind, guaranteeing diabetes and swollen, painful legs and feet if eaten every day for a lifetime. If I were along on that trip, we might have found some healthy food that once you get used to it, becomes more delicious than all that artery clogging stuff. Especially at an Amish market. There are probably fruits and vegetables there that would, if eaten regularly in small quantities, make you feel like a kid again… Ready to take a ride on the spunky horse.

With steak, mac 'n cheese, and shrimp, how could it not be a perfect day. Interesting and enjoyed hearing what others are doing.

Hi Ed -- yes, 08/08/2020 was a beautiful day. A tad warmer here than there and today will be another wonderful day. We will be driving home from Clifty Falls State Park today--a super 5 days. Great hikes, scenery awe-inspiring, quiet, food galore (and very delicious), and atmospheres of change. So glad you and Rene had such a perfect day! Thanks for taking time to poetisize (I know, probably not a word) your day. Bobbie & Scott
