Did I go just a bit overboard?

Poem Artwork

Of late, I’ve not been around,

From me nary a peep or sound,

I do most assuredly apologize,

This apology comes from deep down.

If you like this or not,

You don’t have to give it a thought,

Just write what you will or not,

From me you won’t notice any distraught.

For from you I do expect,

No comment, only a reject,

I really have all these years,

Appreciated all the smiles & tears.

Hopefully you do understand,

That, of late, I haven’t written,

Of that, it was nothing I planned,

We all speak of muse, mine not only leaving,

It must have been a product of thieving.

But who knows I might be back,

With some of my ideals and such, still intact,

This, a long explanation for a short subject,

So you are entitled to of me reject,

My site here on this Den, totally wrecked,

From the bottom of my heart to you all,

I do show all manner available of deep respect!

Please come back to us. I have just returned. The pandemic has taken any thoughts of poetry from my heart. I can still write prose, but poetry is the from my soul. Take care. You will return when the spirit moves you.

You still have a big following here, even though they may be too busy with the pandemic and other issues to be here all the time looking out for others like you.

You can be assured as long as you are around and I have the time, I will check on your poetizing and make a screwball comment to get you laughing.

Looks like the muse has come back with this humble rendition. Welcome back, Ed.

A heartfelt and honest write, Ed. Love, peace, and best wishes to you,

Regis. 🍁🌳🙏

PS: My muse quite often goes on a sabbatical somewhere so I just have to wait until she decides to come back and inspire me some more. 😊

So good to see you back Ed…!
It’s been a weird time for us all..
I’d been away for quite a time too.. but
it’s good to be back now…
Let’s hope there’s many more smiles to come
and the poem above proves you’ve not lost
Your touch!

Welcome back, and many
good wishes…

Diana…🍀
