I swear, I wish that AuthorsDen had a micellaneous category, bet it would be full to the brim, enjoy this little diddy...

*HELICOPTERS*

Like a boy with a toy,

Be it a fire engine or tractor,

 I’m attracted to helicopters.

 Don’t understand the hype,

But when I hear them  approach,

  I must ascertain their type.

Even on the road, surrounded by cars,

I must stop and watch them from afar,

  Straight up, straight down,

Does my attraction make me seem a                                clown?

I find in my desire to enjoy their

   presence, an uncertainty,

   Is it childish to dwell?

Would it be less so to quell?

Oh what the hell, we all need fun in our

    lives,

    Else we wither and die,

From that of a boring existence!

                                                                                      (ed)

Whatever you desire enjoy it while you can, it's a waste to wonder if, and, or buts, just do it before time has run out on you.Excellent write Ed!

Ed, well done. A little secret but I'll let it out of the bag. I get the same fascinations when I see hot air balloons.

You sound like my little guy that makes me stop the car until the helicopter is out of sight...JUST so he can watch it--if not--he throws a fit :) The concept and message in this poem is very good. I appreciate.

Thank You,
Teresa Emilie
